Las Vegas has a branding problem. To the outside world, this city is a weekend trip. It’s the Strip, the casinos, and the neon lights.

But if you live here, work in tech, or own property in the Valley, you know the reality is shifting fast. Las Vegas is no longer just a tourist destination; it is quietly becoming one of the most strategic places in the country to build a tech career, launch a startup, and grow wealth.

I am a software architect, an investor, and a proud Las Vegas resident. Over the last few years, I’ve watched a massive migration of engineers, founders, and remote workers land in neighborhoods from Summerlin to Henderson.

We came for the lack of state income tax. We stayed for the lifestyle, the cost of living, and the incredible access to the outdoors.

The numbers behind the migration tell the real story:

  • Top-Tier Ecosystem Growth: Las Vegas's startup ecosystem has been ranked in the top five in the country for year-over-year growth.

  • A Hub for Innovation: The city was recently named the best city in America for pre-IPO startups.

  • Diversified Tech Boom: It's not just gaming anymore; Nevada's biotech industry has grown by 22% since 2018, double the national rate, and the state ranks in the top ten nationally for clean energy job creation and investment.

  • Economic Incentives that Actually Matter: With no state income tax, no capital gains tax, and significantly lower costs for office and wet lab space compared to California, founders and investors are moving their capital to the Valley.

But as I navigated buying a home here, tracking local investments, and looking to connect with other tech professionals, I realized something was missing. There was no single source of truth for the analytical Las Vegas resident. Most local content is either aimed at tourists or focuses on generic daily news.

I wanted data-driven insights. I wanted to know how the tech ecosystem was evolving locally. I wanted to understand the real estate ROI for a four-bedroom home with a home office.

Since it didn't exist, I decided to build it.

Welcome to The Vegas Move.

Every week, I’ll be sharing my notes on the intersection of Tech, Real Estate, and Lifestyle in the 702. No fluff, just the logic and data you need to make the most of your move to the Valley.

Here is what we will cover:

  • The Tech Scene: Which startups are building here, where the remote work hubs are, and how the local engineering ecosystem is growing.

  • Real Estate Logic: Deep dives into the housing market, comparing neighborhoods not just by price, but by long-term value, connectivity, and livability for the modern professional.

  • The "Off-Strip" Life: How to actually live here. From the best weekend hikes in Red Rock and Zion to the hidden gems in the local food scene.

Whether you are a software engineer planning your relocation, a local investor, or just someone curious about the future of this city beyond the neon, you are in the right place.
